Nature park "Lonjsko Polje"
Nature Park "Lonjsko Polje" is the largest protected wetland area, not only in Croatia but in the entire Danube basin.
The basic feature of this protected area are periodic floods, mostly in spring and autumn that condition a very large biodiversityTherefore, here you can find almost all the European plants from moist and wetland habitats. (over 550 species).
Also, animal world is very rich and diverse. There is a large number of nesting birds (over 250 species), especially waterfowl. White storks, spoonbills, various herons, white-tailed eagles and eagles, and many migratory birds use large pastures for food. Special ornithological reserves are declared within the two areas of the park "Krapje đol" and "Rakita".
Nature Park "Lonjsko Polje" is also known for indigenous breeds of domestic animals like pig from Turopolje, horse from Posavina, podolian cattle, posavina goose and crested hen.Traditional grazing is still kept because cattle is in the common herd most of the year in open pastures.
Lowland riparian forests cover 2/3 of the total area of the nature park.
They are a great natural wealth, especially oak, which together with the Polish ash, hornbeam and johom seems quiet haven for wild boar, roe, deer and other animal species. In most villages still prevail typical Posavina wooden houses. Some are more than 200 years old. Due to environmental preservation of old houses, surrounding villages look like in a fairy tale. Because of the large number of stork nests, village "Čigoč" was awarded the title; European village of storks.
Ecoethno village Strug

On the ranch there is a restaurant with a capacity of 80 seats in three rooms, and open terace with 25 seats.
In the grill area we prepare all sorts of local dishes, barbecue, and dishes from pot and lid.
Spend magical nights in the enviroment of indigenous "Posavina" wooden houses which are over 140 years old.
Besides our 20 people capacity for spending the night we can ensure staying in oak houses which are located in the surrounding villages, "Krapje" and "Drenov bok", five minutes away from our village.
